Archive 2005 FS Achiever 115A flash $25.00. Deagleeyes Offline •. Drag to set position! Have anyone tried using the color splash external flash? I have a Achiever 115A/S which will fire with G11 but the color splash wouldn't. I wonder if anyone tried it before.: ) Publish Preview 'rylle 9 years ago. Oh, i have a cs flash and always been wondering if it will work with my. Greetings, I just bought a used (like new!) Achiever brand 260AF flash unit, marked as 'Dedicated for Pentax XZ and PZ series.' The pins on the flash shoe are in the same positions as the mount on the K100D Super. Also, the user manual says that it may be use in Pentax Program (P) TTL mode, and Pentax TTL Auto (A) mode. I figured that since it said that it would work in PTTL mode, I would be able to use it on my K100DS and it would work automatically. First, I checked the trigger pin voltage, and it is only 8 Volts with the flash fully charged, and it fires just fine. As I understand, the K100DS will tolerate 8 Volts just fine (but NOT 200 Volts, like my old Vivitar flashes!). When I mount it on the camera, the camera DOES recognize in the viewfinder when the flash is charged, so I know that there is some communication with the flash. However, the flash just blasts away at full power in every mode I've tried on the mode dial, thus overexposing pictures (unless I manually stop down to f16 or f22!). One neat thing about this unit is that it does have a focus-assist lamp built in. When I half-depress the button for AF to work, and if the light level is low, the AF lamp in the flash DOES light up and help with autofocus. So, there is another indication of communication between body and flash. So, I tried flash compensation in the menu, dropping it down -2.0 f-stops, but that did nothing. I tried -2 f-stops compensation in the viewfinder, but that did not change exposure in any way, on any mode dial setting either. Don't worry if you don't know what's your operating system. Hp m1005 mfp driver download windows 7. I changed the ISO setting on the slider on the flash, and that has no impact on exposure on any setting on the mode dial in the camera. I stepped through all the menus and find nothing else which would seem to affect flash operation. I also notice that in the auto program modes, there is no pre-flash for exposure like there is with the built-in flash. So, did I buy a dud? Am I missing a setting somewhere in the K100DS body? Am I misunderstanding PTTL and how it works (or is 'Program TTL' not the same as the K100DS PTTL)? Do I have a problem with my K100DS body? Singer manual sewing machines. Even as it is, I can get good use out of it since it runs at a safe triggering voltage for my K100DS - I just have to operate in Av or M mode and set the aperture per Guide-Number/distance calculations in my head. Not too big a deal since I've done that for years anyway, but thought it would be nice to have a bounce flash which works automatically. By the way, this is NOT a thyristor flash, but is only designed for automatic TTL modes through the hot-shoe with a Pentax camera. Does anyone have one which can be verified whether it works with a K100DS (or other in the DSLR K-series)? Hi Joe, I don't know the exact flash you have and I use a K20D but from what you've described, I think that your flash is meant for the older generation of TTL metering. I believe that the K100 uses PTTL in which the camera tells the flash to do a pre-flash to check exposure and then resets things on that basis before doing the actual flash. The TTL flash uses a sensor that measures the light hitting the film whereas PTTL senses it some other way. I have a number of flashes I like to play with and certainly one of the ones that says TTL does fire at full power regardless of setting. You may be limited to 'flashing' manually. Hope this helps somewhat. Michael & Yves, Thanks for your comments. I must have misunderstood the meaning of the 'Program' TTL mode of this flash, confusing it with the currently-used P-TTL. I'll still find it useful. Game the house of the dead 2 full crack idm full. I might even look into the circuitry to see if I can devise a method of adding an external manual control (e.g., a multi-position switch) for setting strobe power.
